“My kids just love this place. We just wrapped up 3 weeks, and they were almost in tears about leaving and not being able to see their teachers again. They had so much fun and made friends, but most amazingly, they learned some real solid skills! In one week (from Monday to Friday), my four year old learned to swim independently. On Monday, she didn't know how to swim, and on Saturday morning, at the weekly demonstration, she shocked me by jumping into the pool and swimming to her teacher. And all of the teachers my kids had were great: kind, encouraging, firm, patient, funny. Just nice, polite young people. Good role models for the little ones. “To watch the progress over two weeks achieved by such a young child is amazing. We went from barely putting our eyes in the pool to working on independently swimming with arm circles. My 3 year old fell in the pool (under complete adult supervision) but before we had to intervene, she knew to turn around and grab the wall. The safety she has learned in the pool is priceless. “This is my son’s third year at Silton and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience there. He has learned how to swim thanks to the amazing teachers and he has learned even more important lessons. He always talked about the water safety he learned, but last week he learned about beach safety. Yesterday we had one of the scariest experiences a parent can imagine and our son was lost at the beach. He was at the edge of the water one second and the next he was gone. He learned at Silton that if he gets lost at the beach to go find the lifeguard chair. After scary minutes of people searching the water I spotted him almost at the lifeguard chair going to get help. When I asked him what made him go to the lifeguards he told me that he learned this at swim school. “This was my daughters third year and sons first at Silton. My daughter year after year had great teachers however my son a totally different child was more hesitant leaving me. His teachers this year Melanie and Lauren went above and beyond for two weeks and always made me feel like he was in good hands both were attentive to his needs to feel comfortable so he could do his best. Watching the videos of my son swim today and seeing his teacher smile at him with such passion just warmed my heart.
