Jetty says, "Come to Silton and learn to swim!!"

Program Overview

Silton offers a 2 week minimum, half day or full day,* swim program for children ages 3-12.

Our swim lessons are divided into 3 half hour pool sessions. During the 3 hours the students are here they will be in the pool receiving instruction for one half hour, out of every hour. The children will then go to our field for a supervised sports activities during the next half hour. Your child will be receiving 3 half hour lessons per day, that is 30 half hour lessons for the two weeks! This allows the most optimal time frame for meaningful learning. 3 and 4 year olds will spend their out of pool time in our supervised sandbox.

You may choose either the AM session (9:00-12:00) or the PM session (1:00-4:00).  The full day program is from 9:00-4:00.

At Silton we believe that communication between staff and parents is very important. Please, feel free to speak about your child's progress at pick up and during our Saturday Morning Program.

To register, click here to print out our registration forms and mail them in or stop by our office and register in person. (Available February 18, 2015)

*full day program is not recommended for 3 and 4 year old children. Click here for prices for  our full day program.

Our Philosophy

When a youngster is placed in an ideal environment and given ample time, the reasonably receptive child will learn. Add an educationally proven program with the finest professional instruction and the learning process will be hastened and refined.

Swimming involves the application of several scientific principles which underline the fundamental concepts for the beginner or more advanced swimmer. The key to the instruction is communication and repetition which will develop a more positive learning experience within each child’s ability level. Maximum comfortable exposure is necessary and permitted by heating the water to 85 degrees.

New Requirement : An updated immunization record, from your child's Dr.'s office, must be submitted to our office by May 15th. We do not keep last years records, a new form is needed each summer.

Due to the recent and serious outbreak of measles across the country, and in a continuous effort to keep our students and staff safe and healthy, it will be mandatory to provide proof of your child's complete and up-to-date immunization record before your child begins lessons.

If your child is not immunized, fully or partially, it is mandatory to have a document issued by your child’s pediatrician submitted to our office before your child begins lessons.

Please be advised, in the event the NJ Health Commissioner deems there to be an outbreak or a threat of outbreak of a communicable disease, Silton reserves the right to refuse admission to or dismissal from our program any person who is not fully or partially immunized. In addition, any person who presents a health risk to themselves or others due to communicable disease, infection or infestation may also be refused admission or dismissed from our program with no monetary refund (a credit will be issued).

This requirement is in compliance with the New Jersey Youth Camp Standards 8:25-5.5.
