Silton Swim School Policies
*Please read carefully*
REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICIES:
#1. A registration form must be completed for each student/child and initialed and signed by a parent/guardian indicating dates desired, session choice, complete address with all needed phone numbers, and email addresses. Each registration must be signed and dated for enrollment to be processed.
#2. A one-hundred dollar ($100) NON-REFUNDABLE deposit must accompany each registration form (one registration form per child).
#3. All final payments are due no later than MAY 1st. All enrollments after MAY 1st must be paid in full, unless a payment plan is scheduled with our office.
#4. If final payment is not received by May 1st, your child’s spot may be released and your $100 deposit will not be credited, transferred, or refunded.
#5. All payments are accepted in Cash, Check, or Money Order only.
#6. There is a $25 service charge for all returned checks.
#7. Friend Requests: Due to the amount of friend requests, we allow 1 friend request and all requests are not guaranteed. Our ability to meet your request will depend on our class sizes, student’s ages (must be the same age), and enrollment period (requested friends weeks cannot overlap).
CANCELLATION & MAKE-UP DAY POLICIES:
#8. NO REFUNDS GIVEN FOR ANY REASON.
#9. Changes or cancellations made within the two weeks before your child’s scheduled session: NO credit letter or price adjustments given. Changes in weeks or cancellations on your part, resulting in price adjustments, will be given in a credit letter if the schedule change is made prior to 14 days before your child’s scheduled session.
#10. Cancellations prior to MAY 1st: will result in a credit letter including your $100 deposit and any other payments.
#11. Cancellations after MAY 1st: will result in a credit letter of 50% of the payment already received MINUS the $100 deposit.
#12. For cancellations (decided by Silton) due to weather or power outages: The FIRST cancelled session will NOT be made up. Any additional cancellations will result in a make- up session(s). **Weather Cancellations: Parents/Guardians are responsible for calling the school, checking our social media or checking our website for cancellations. Due to the number of students, we cannot accommodate that many phone calls BUT will send an email at least one hour prior to drop off if we decide to cancel a session.
#13. For cancellations due to illness/medical reasons: Please provide a doctor’s note and we will make up any missed sessions.
#14. Make-up days are for illness or 2nd (or additional) cancellations by Silton ONLY. All MAKE-UP days must be used within the current summer. Make-up days cannot be converted into a credit letter unless they occur during our final two weeks. Once a MAKE-UP day is scheduled: If the student cannot attend that day, or the parent forgets, that make-up day cannot be rescheduled, unless you provide a doctor’s note due to illness.
MEDICAL POLICIES:
#15. Accident Insurance is provided and will pay benefits for medical expenses. Please list your health insurance company name on each student’s registration form for additional coverage, if necessary.
#16. If your child requires medication while in attendance: please complete our “MEDICATION DISPENSING FORM” and/or ACTION PLAN FORM along with your child’s registration. These documents require both a parent and a physician authorization. ***ALL MEDICATION (PRESCRIPTION OR OVER-THE-COUNTER) MUST BE LABELED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME AND STORED IN OUR OFFICE WITH THE ORIGINAL PERSCRIPTION LABELED CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS.**** Please do NOT leave any medication or EPI-Pens in your child’s bag.
#17. In cases where the MEDICATION DISPENSING FORM is not available and the administration of a medication is necessary, Silton’s Medical Director may obtain verbal orders from a parent/guardian/physician. However, any order for this medication to be given at camp any future days, parents must complete our MEDICATION DISPENSING FORM prior to that future administration.
#18. If your child has ANY history of SEIZURES: we require a doctor’s note stating that your child can participate in GROUP swimming activity/lessons without 1:1 instruction. If your child is no longer under the care of a physician for seizures, please provide us a note/email starting that. In addition: please complete our Action Care Plan for Seizures.
#19. Students with the following medical needs/conditions must complete our “ACTION CARE PLAN” FORM: Seizures, Asthma, Food Allergies (requiring an epic-pen or other related medication), or ANY Complex Medical Diagnosis.
#20. In a continuous effort to keep our campers safe and healthier, Silton Swim School must comply with the New Jersey Youth Camp Standards N.J.A.C 8:25-5.5, regarding immunizations and health policies. A copy of your child's immunization record from your child's pediatrician must be submitted to our office before your child's first day. In the case of a student with no immunizations or partial immunizations, a document issued (ex. religious exemption letter) by a parent or doctor must be presented to our office.
#21. Possible Outbreaks: Please be advised, in the event the NJ Heather Commissioner deems there to be an outbreak or a threat of an outbreak of a communicable disease, Silton Swim School reserves the right to refuse admission to or dismissal from our program any person who is not fully or partially immunized. In addition, any person who presents a heath risk to themselves or others due to communicable disease, infection or infestation, may also be refused admission or dismissed from our program with no monetary refund (A letter of credit will be issued).
OTHER POLICIES:
#22. Silton reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether a student’s physical, mental or emotional condition requires that the student be accompanied by a 1:1 instructor. In such cases, an additional fee may be assessed.
#23. Silton reserves the right to cancel the registration/enrollment of any child and to dismiss from the program any child who, in the sole discretion of the Director, exhibited condition prevents that child room participating safely and satisfactory in the group programs offered by Silton or which negatively impacts Silton’s ability to offer its fundamental services to other campers.
#24. If a student is asked to withdraw from the group lessons, Silton will refund the participant for the entire tuition cost, including the $100 deposit. Withdrawl requests for all other reasons, or for any siblings, will follow the standard refund policies.
#25. Parents are NOT PERMITTED to observe classes. Drop off by 8:45 AM (AM class) and 12:45 PM (PM Class). Classes start promptly at 9 AM or 1 PM; tardiness is VERY disruptive. Please do not arrive for pick-up before 11:45 AM or 3:45 PM.
#26. All Early Pick-Ups must be done through our pool office. NO child will be dismissed from the pool area. All students will be signed out and dismissed from our office.
#27. All students must be dropped off and picked up in their designated area or at our pool office if arriving late. No child may be dropped off in the parking lot, field, sandbox, or pool area. All students must be accompanied by an adult to their instructors on a daily basis. If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking up, please alert our office staff and your child’s instructors prior to their arrival.
#28. All cars must be parked in the Silton Swim School parking lot only. Cars parked in our neighboring lots will be towed by the owner’s expense. Please keep in mind these are our year-round neighbors.
#29. Silton is a FOOD FREE facility during our hours of instruction. Please do NOT pack a snack. We have many students with severe food allergies and are food free as an extra precaution.
#30. Only FULL-DAY students are to bring lunch and will be supervised by staff members during their lunch hour. Please label all lunch belongings or food.
#31. Silton offers a military, fire and police discount of 15% off the tuition cost per child. This applies to regular and discounted priced weeks (discount does not apply towards recreation tuition).
#32. There are no additional discounts taken from RECREATION tuition costs.
#33. All students attending MUST BE POTTY TRAINED. *Effective as of our 2025 season, we are no longer offering TRIAL ENROLLMENTS for potty training reasons and for students who recently turned 3. All students must be potty trained prior to attending swim school. Students may attend during the current summer as long as they are 3 years old by August 31st.
#34. If your child registers for swim school and during attendance is not potty trained or has a potty accident in the pool, on the pool deck, or in the sandbox/field area, enrollment is terminated and no credit or refund will be given.
